Italians and the UK is a journey through time and space. It narrates stories of a brewer on the run in Scotland, top managers and innovators in the City, film directors from the Isle of Wight, a hairdresser who received a prestigious MBE thanks to his talent and initiative. These are tales of love, careers, inspiration and innovation, gathered all around the UK, from “the end of the world” to London and illuminating Italian immigration from the 19th century to the present day. There are sixteen stories in total, divided into five sections: Italians from the end of the world, Family Life, Prisoners of War, Dreams, Sweat and Bricks and 24hours London. The aim is to trace an ideal thematic path across the stories that we recorded in the field on our journey from the northern to the southern extremities of the UK.
